From last night, my first attempt at any sort of "astro," of course this is the Milky Way. The dark splotches in the band are clouds, it wasn't perfectly clear unfortunately. I learned a few things from this shoot and will re-attempt another tonight, maybe up in Yosemite. Regardless, I obviously still have a lot more to learn, but it was fun to at least get this; and it's actually better than I expected to get. There are a couple of us shooting together and we all got that same green glow low on the horizon to the East. We think it might be a low tail of the aurora, but aren't sure since it's North-East and not North. It did change size and intensity as we were shooting, so maybe.
Was there a few years back. Went into Bodie the back way and was treated to an unexpected cattle drive. Stopped and watched the cowboys work their magic getting the cattle heading where they wanted.

Thank you Fred!
Yes, the back way in goes through BLM grazing land, and depending on time of year, you can be stopped by a drive like you saw or just random cattle standing in the road!
Tonight's Milky Way shot, last day. I got incredibly lucky as a shooting star went through during my 8 second exposure here -- along with several satellites and a couple aircraft I may edit the planes out, when I get home to my desktop machine.
