If everyone could please stop making me want an RX1 again that’d be great. Thanks.
I lusted after one for a long time, but kept dismissing it as too impractical. But I finally picked one up last month because I got an insane deal on it. It's hard to hold, and the battery life is abysmal.
And I absolutely adore it. Seeing other people's amazing samples from the RX1 series made me envious, but seeing my own first photos from it just floored me. I will quite likely never part from this camera.
If you can find one at a price that works for you, pull the trigger

If only the battery didn't go down to 1/2 bar after 20 shots, I would've kept mine.

I've had 3, maybe 4!
I'm still hoping the guy I sold my RX1RII too sells it back to me!

I'm afraid that many of you would start crying if I reveal that . I work for a large electronics retailer and there was an RX1RII "demo" model that had been around for a while, though it was never used. I think it was just overstock that may have been opened once. This line doesn't sell particularly well via B&M and I think inventory just wanted to get rid of it before the EOY so they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Let's just say it meets the absolute minimum requirements of being a "four figure" number.

Well if anything changes with your desire to own... I know a guy who’d want one!
I actually got a well worn one for a similar price from Lens Rentals but foolishly sold it. Made a little bit but still passed along a real good deal. If I could find a MkII model for under $1500 I’d get another, but good as it is it’s too long in the tooth to be a $2k camera.

Interesting discussion. I purchased an RX1 used when they first came out and as usual somebody decided they bought the wrong camera and put it up for sale. I loved the RX1 but wanted an A7RII. I immediately regretted selling the RX1 and later purchased another used RX1 original model with EVF. It was already well used. I paid KEH to clean the sensor and I taped down the EVF because I didn't trust the EVF hinge which was loose on one side. The battery life is terrible. The data and time memory keeps failing and it takes wonderful photos. I am on a cruise now and they keep warning us not to take conspicuous cameras into some cities. I am glad I brought the RX1 as my backup. I even have the Sony label covered. I can live with it. I will probably never be able to sell the camera but I would like to have a model II.
Iles du Salut, French Guiana was the island paradise second home to more than 80,000 French prisoners made famous by the movie Papillon and then again by the remake of the movie Papillion and then yet again by my visit The RX1 si sure easier to carry than my A7RIII with FE 100-400.
