Anyone tried to shoot panning shots with the RII? What shutter speed to you use and aperture? I'm mainly trying to capture kids running around or riding bikes, etc.

Thanks for your feedback I think I've ended up preferring the first also. I'd probably go for a crop in between if there was a way to get it into one of the aspect ratios that I print in but frustratingly I don't think there is

Why such an expensive camera,only to take snapshots...? What am I missing. You could take a lot of these photos with an iPhone. I’m not being negative or critical, I just dont understand peoples’ use of the camera.

I am not that good to take similar snaps that I make with the RX1 using an iPhone.
Incidentally, the iPhone thingies are not that cheap.

These are really good. Knowing the limitations of this camera makes the techniques even more impressive. Well done. You e take “family shots” and turned them into something engaging.
