This is the same gator I posted a few days ago, although here it lowered its head after swallowing something. I had been shooting from a low pov when its stare became intense. I got up and moved.
I would characterize your encounter as courageous tempered by wisdom.
The size of this gator and his teeth are quite intimidating knowing how fast they can move when they want to.

Very cool shot! I hope someone had your back Wayne....sometimes it's not the one you can see that you have to worry about! I've seen what these guy's close relative can do to a 750lb zebra and wildebeest....and you don't want to be on the business end of their bite. I understand they have a bite strength something like 2150psi (salties more than double that)....lions are 500psi for comparison. So, you are a braver man than I Wayne!

Wayne, after seeing tons and tons of gators out there with you, the only thing that I can say about this one is he has that look of either really pissed or he's psycho and something bad is about to happen real quick. Glad you got that new knee working so you can make a quick exit.
