( Was this shot taken in the morning? Your photo indicates pm shot. )

I have another shot taken at a higher position but did not like the many boulders between the cactus and the mountains so I took this shot from a lower perspective. This was taken at sunrise. I have not adjusted the clock since I returned from Botswana .

The Alabama Hills are in Lone Pine, CA. It's right on Rte 395 to Mammoth.

The shot definitely has potential, but processing is off. Clouds and mountains have too much HDR applied to them; more contrast and you'd have a real wall hanger. GREAT composition, excellent shot, just a bit short of hitting the mark on the processing.
