Super duper Kirk!!! What a killer set. There are times I wish I had shots like 1 every time I visit I guess you missed my last 2 times there buried under marine air My how we forget
1 is a stunner, perfect techs my friend. What a fabulous pose!
2 is a classic and as close to perfect as I've seen. Tough to nit this baby!
3 love the spring in the pose, I'm mixed on the neighbors in the bg, both good and less than ideal
4 I'll nit you on the wing position, geez I have to find something to whine about Sharp stem to stern unlike most if's
5 uggh, not the green end wonderful isolation, some distraction fore and aft.
6 oh yeah baby, one of my favorite ducks in a stunner of a shot. I might crop it tighter on the top and bottom. I'm thinking more of a pano look without the distractions up top and just enough bottom to balance the thirds
7 awful nice
8 a fitting end and another great shot
Really nice Kirk, man you were firing on all cylinders
Even though you frequent this 'pond' you seem to add to or create a little something extra that keeps them all fresh
#1 fine IF work Kirk, elegant exposure and form. The variegated BG linear banding adds a nice element and picks up some nice ties to the tones in the bird. If I had to nit it would be.............not worth hitting
#2 Yes indeed, your signature shot and a strong one at that!
#3 you could clone out the company Nice trio
#4 now you know I like Shovelers, now you know I like a pano crop, now you know how much I like this one
#5 it takes a good eye and a good photographer to make a Coot look 'sexy'..........congrats!
#6 this shows your talents for 'seeing' and 'feeling' a shot, you did fine on this standout shot buddy!
#7 shhhh..........love the tranquility here........lovely image
#8 darn beautiful Kirk, love the radiance of light from the wings. One tiny nit............and it is about 3/8in in front of the beak
I was just going to say 'fine job' but I saw more than that here

You got that D800 tuned for sure Kirk. Super set of images with great color and detail.
Best,
Tom
Thanks so much Tom. I absolutely love the D800 which is a very capable camera, and a couple of recent PP tips have really helped my finished images significantly.

Killer set Kirk. No nits here, but I may suggest toning down or smoothing the dark banding up by the upper wing in #1. The wing pose and tail spread in that one is great. #2 and that #4 shoveler IF are my top picks of this nice set.
Thanks so much for the good words Herb... also appreciate the suggestion for #1, sounds like a great idea.
