Viera Wet is one of my favorite place to shoot. When you go there you never know what you'll find.
A good time to get there is when it opens, at sunrise. Besides the warm lighting you'll see quite a bit of flying activity with some good opportunities for IF shots.
I was lucky to see, when I went there three weeks ago, the sunrise on one side and the moon setting on the opposite site.
These are a few of the shots I was able to get.

Socrate
That first one is a stunner Socrate with lots of wonderful elements in it - The perched GBH, the moon, the landscape and BIF too!
The early morning light certainly brought extra color to the pics as seen in the first 3 mostly probably because of the vegetation and water in them as compared to the rest.
My favourites are 1, 3 and 2 but they are all great pics and what great variety too.

Great job on these Socrate. I was there about 3 weeks ago and wasn't able to get any close shots of a Caracara. Yours are excellent. I sure wish it wasn't 700 miles away.
these are all great socrate. i particularly like the group of blue-winged teal, the lighting is perfect and its nice to see a group action shot. never been able to shoot this species so i am a bit envious!
The GBH in the water shot is awesome. You had a good Viera experience. Congrats on the eagle shot...he doesn't do that every day. Nice CCC flight shots too!

Certainly seems to be a place offering great diversity and plenty of passer-by IF subjects. Thanks for sharing your goodies!
Wonderful set, Socrate. My favorite is the blue-winged teal, just because the light and the composition are sublime, and it feels so warm. The Caracara is fantastic, and that is an amazing shot of the Ibis in breeding plumage. (Are the dark wing tips breeding or are they always like that?)
