Some Horned Grebes from last month. The one's feeding are feasting on Gunnels, an eel like fish that inhabits the Puget Sound. During one of these sequences the grebe had the whole gunnel in its throat but the gunnel managed to wriggle out again, that happened numerous times!!
Fabulous series Tim. I thought gunnels were on boats so I had a vision of what I was going to see before I saw this great deep throat sequence. Must be fun timing the up and down motion of the docks...do you use the vertical stabilizer?

The light in #4 is incredible and the look on #5 is delicious! We all know that a 'head on shot' ain't gonna work unless you 'dot the eyes' and you got them both dead ringer, what a great shot

Top shelf work in this set, Tim! Cool action in the first shots with the first two captures clearly showing the struggle between the Grebe and the Gunnel.
All the images are clean and detailed and the bgs are very complimentary as well.
