Outstanding set, Kirk. Hard to pick a favorite from these terrific images. Great sharpness, nice low angles, and interesting poses. #2 stands out for me. Great work on these.
Jim
Really appreciate your wonderfully kind words Jim.
It is without a doubt my favorite place for bird photography.

WOW... that's all I can say, Kirk! This is one fantastic set! I cannot believe how close you got and what fabulous results with the low angle and beautiful colored BG! Simply stunning!
Humble thanks for the wonderful compliments Mitesh, your words are very much appreciated and I'm thrilled you enjoyed the series.

Excellent captures, Kirk.
#3 & 4 are my favorites but all have great compositions/poses and super light/BG as usual.
Hmm looks like you shoot now at f7.1 and still got these very smooths BG's.
Chris
Thanks for the wonderful words Chris.
I have recently moved to f/7.1 for increased DOF on the close subjects, the BG is so far away that a creamy smooth bokeh is no problem even stopped down to f/7.1.

Wow. Somehow I missed this post earlier, so I'm glad it got bumped back up. That angle is so low, the water is so smooth, and the background is so creamy; well, it just doesn't get any better!
My favorite (along with most others) is the duckling; the light, composition, and pose are stellar, and it doesn't hurt that the subject is so cute.
Greg
Thanks so much for the generous words Greg, they are most appreciated.
This pond and the spot that I shoot from produce wonderful opportunities and I'm amazed that more local shooters don't take advantage of it... so I'll be glad to just use it as my personal outdoor studio.

great stuff kirk, the baby mallard is a really strong shot. love how low you are on these. lb dowitcher is a species we don't often see here so big ups for getting him.
dorian
Thanks so much Dorian, really appreciate the good words. I love getting low and this spot allows me to do just that whenever I want to. Really glad you enjoyed the Dowitcher, I was fortunate he decided to preen so close to me.
