Even though the 1st looks a little off. It still works real nice. I can't pick a favorite from this fine bunch.

Thank you John. When I get a few minutes I am going to sit down with #1 and work on getting the level issue figured out...it clearly is something that everyone is picking up on...so it needs fixing.

Awesome set! Love the night shots and the B&W conversion and long exposure on the your first.
My only suggestion for the first image: Even though it appears to be level, my perception is that the image needs to be rotated a few degrees CW.

Thanks so much Fred, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Yep...the first will get some more attention...

as everyone has stated, i think we're all in favor of #1
is it difficult to get the star trails? is it just tripod and long exposure?
Thanks. You know, it is surprising to me that so many of the Landscape Forum crowd likes that shot, it really is...while I like it a lot...I took it, and I like B&W LE...but it is not very common on this board...so I am surprised. I did not expect that one to be the one that most gravitated towards...
The star trails over Delicate was 15 one minute exposures, blended in PS using Lighter Layer blend mode. I had my camera on a tripod, and used my intervalometer to fire each shot right after the previous, in camera LE noise Reduction has to be turned off. I prefer to do shorter exposures, and blend them, less noise, especially with the 7D. But I think most people do it that way.
also nice to see other places/views than I have made in may 2010
lovely NP !!!
Thank you. We hit almost all of the sites in the park...I had a really hard time limiting myself to 5 images to share here...I really enjoyed the trip. It is a great place.

you can post some every day in a new thread ;-)
I thought about breaking them out by section of the park...but then just went with 5...don't want to post too many...I tried to pick my 5 favorite...but it was tough.

Nice set, Travis. #1 is a very striking long exposure, and the textures in the foreground of #2 are terrific.
Thank you very much. I think striking is an important feature in long exposures.

Smart thinking Travis.
There is such a thing as overkill, and posting a lot of quantity does not equate to quality. It seems to happen here once in a while, or more often than it should (I'll leave it at that!)...
I think you did fine with this thread. Now you need to search out new material!
HI Craig. Yeah, I limited myself to sharing this set and the dedicated set at Balanced Rock. I have not looked through my images from Canyonlands, but doubt anything will be worth posting. After that...new material will be a long way off...I don't get out to shoot as much as many of the frequent users of the board.

Nicely done. You got some unique perspectives.
Thank you. I look for them, but in reality, there isn't much that hasn't been done in places like this. Thanks for taking the time.
