yes, those reenactors are willing but they have to keep in "character' !
The cap looks like it might be blue; the coat like it might be grey.
Maybe the poor ambivalent fellow lived exactly ON the Mason-Dixon Line.

That's one of the observations of the Civil War. Union troops had government issue (blue) uniforms. The southern armies were a confederation of state and local militias cobbled together - there was no standard uniform. As the war drug on, Confederate soldiers had little of what could be called 'uniforms'.
