I'm officially back to work from maternity leave now and this was my first official (aka real client) shoot - a gorgeous senior girl who wanted to incorporate her horse, Twister, in some of her photos. I had so much fun doing these! Just started editing and will add more as I go along. Sorry to those who think my work is boring as these are likely more of my usual stuff, but to the others, I hope you enjoy them. These were all shot with natural light and I alternated between the 200L and 85L.
We did this session at the historic Crozier Canyon Ranch - a place I've been wanting to shoot at for YEARS. Dad had connections and got us in. You can read more about it HERE if you wish.

3 Can you believe we live in a desert? We've had an insane monsoon season this year and you could easily mistake our little town for the Pacific Northwest!

13b For those who seem to have a problem with the laying down on the horse pose, perhaps this is better?
IMO those lying on the horse poses are terribly awkward. PP on her face in the later shots overdone IMO as well. 4 is cool, from a distance the rocky BG looks like hdr clouds
At risk of feeling like a broken record... Great photos, great photos, great photos... You consistently deliver them. I'm sure she and her family are in love with these.
The young lady sure has a great personality, that is a great warm smile LIsa and #1 and #2 capture that well.
Arch over #4 seems to work but maybe too much area above and I personally think less of the reflection here would strengthen the subject since she is rather small in this shot proportionally?
#5 Glamorous and very different than the rest but feel the look of #6 ties in with this image nicely for the mood and character.
9,10,11 have just a bit too much in the BG IMO, I prefer what the BG of 12 has to offer but this is my least favorite image of her
I look forward to some others of her as well

Wonderful set, That first one with the golden back light and the gold sequin dress is for sure stuck in my head! Super sweet!
Agree, beautiful back light, however, she looks tense and I do not see a connection or feeling for the the horse. No "horse person" would hold a horse's head with clinched fists. Technically very good, but no joy.
Gorgeous stuff Lisa! Looks like an awesome rustic location. Love all the horse included photos but especially #9 because it looks like they really have a connection. And 5 is a beautiful and so your style!
Really like the individuals + 1,9,10,11 with the horse.
The other ones I found very awkward (as others mentioned) and it could be from inexperience working with a horse OR her decision. But I have never seen someone pose on a horse like that and I am around them a lot.
Overall they are great but those particular photos bring down the set for me as they jump out as odd / awkward.
