p.1 #1 · Beautiful Redheaded Girl Part II (and her brother)
So after I picked up this little girl doing a model call while I was on maternity leave, mom was so pleased with the images that she hired me to do a session with her son. Just sharing a few. I went with the same theme I did his sister in so that the images would look well hung together.

As usual Lisa these are excellent. I absolutely love the one with the brother and sister together. Though done well, I'm not a fan of the cut off head in 2,3, and 4. Thank you for sharing.

I like the first one and the brother and sister photo the best in this lot. They're all really good, though. You're a great photographer and you obviously have a way with kids. I always enjoy your posts; especially your child photos. You bring out their best.

I'm the last person who should be critiquing/commenting on ones image, but I had to say that #6 caught my eye due to the halo around the girls hair, her face looks a little over exposed too. #5 looks more natural to me, #6 too much processing ?
Regardless, they're very sweet looking kids. It goes without saying, you did a good job like usual, their parents should be ecstatic.

You know that's poison ivy?
It's funny that folks don't care for the cut off heads. I like tight portraits. The sibling photo is my favorite. I think the hands and her dress in the foreground compete for attention. I don't know if a little burning would help. I'd be afraid that burning them down might upset the "light" feel I think you're going for. Perhaps next time if you dropped her knee so the hands were lower in the frame. Anyway, it's just a nit.

Great stuff as always Lisa! First and last are my favorites, the first for the dark tones and the last for the composition. And also really like the shot of the two together.
Well done.

Excellent set. Nothing to pick at from me. No problem with cropped heads here. Surprised how well the ivy works in the boy shots. I find the mono very appealing. Must be the shallow dof - looks like a muslin backdrop. Conversions are excellent.
I do have a question. What do you say to the kids to get such pleasing expressions? Seriously.

Thank you everyone!!
Jodo - I take my time with kids. I am really comfortable around them having 10 of my own. I'll act silly, threaten to tickle them, ask them about their friends, hobbies, etc. Really, just take your time with them. Don't rush things. Have the parents back off so you can get them one on one. I haven't had a kid yet I couldn't get through to. This little guy was very shy. I had my assistant (aka my 12 year old son) stand behind me with crumpled leaves and slowly drop them into my hair. I asked the Jacob (little boy in the photos) to please tell me if he saw Damien doing anything funny. He could barely contain himself when he started dropping stuff on my head. lol

Nice shots Lisa! I think the color ones lack some of the pop and contrast that make the bw's sizzle #1 is my fav, great contrast on the light, the others seem to lack that same depth in the lighting...

The images are so great I hate to comment but --- for some reason the catch light in their eyes looks strange to me and I don't know why but it's the first thought I had when I started looking at them,
