From Washington DC this morning. Shortly after I left, the National Park Service announced the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin reached peak bloom today, about a week earlier than the previous forecast due to the warm weather the last several days.

The event called 'The Herds' is here for the next few days. African inspired walking art installations that look like animals. Very unusual and chaotic

CY 35-70/3.4, a very different design to the other Zeiss zooms of the time. This one has more in common with Leica lenses, and its designer left Zeiss and went on to run the excellent telephoto lens development program at Leica. It's a 10 elements in ten groups, most unusual. A Vario-Sonnar, a very Sonnar design in fact. Lovely colors and vibrancy, good for people as well as landscapes, etc. I've had mine for 18 years.
