I placed an order to replace my aging storage system of over 10 years and I figured, it is better to do so while it is still working in good order rather than wait until it fails. So, I am going through my images in order to condense the bloating system before it transferring the files. I ended up deleting 4TB of files in the process. Then I came across a few files that I thought would be worth posting.
This is a vertically composited pano and I cropped the upper section a little. I only brought out that lens and since 200mm the shortest FL and it was not wide enough to capture the clouds, I ended up take some vertical shots for pano purposes. That view is to the north and the bright spot is not the sun itself but it was more a colorful reflection of the sun...

WOW Joshua, that is one spectacular cityscape! Really well done.

Great stuff and a good catch. A problem may be that if not knowing that was what it looked like at the meoment it can be mistaken for a faked image. I love a good stitch and a colorful one (as opposed to my mainly B&W work) is nice!
Is it even a star I see in the lower right above the black building?

Thank you very much, Jonas! I go to that spot on a regular basis; sometime it was like 2-3 times/year in the last 12-15 years of so but only in the winter. Beyond the LA cityscape there is a pretty high mountain range. And in the winter, there could be snow on the top. So, on a clear day after a snow storm, you see a pretty large group of photographers there, including myself dragging our gear and yes, tripod is a must. So, the bright spot that you noticed is actually a helicopter that happened to be there. I am including another image taken from approximately the same spot on a different year for illustrative purposes of my point above.

great shots of the pretty boy, Bill. I haven't seen them in my yard yet. There have been sightings reported in Maryland.
Douglas, thank you very much. The past couple of days have seen an increase in numbers. I still have a Buff-bellied here but he tends to shy from the flower shots.
