Interesting about seeing the lens differences. Is it the color?
It is not all the difference in the lens per se, I would say, but it has quite a bit to do with the distance between you and the target. The ones taken with the Sigma tend to be further away, showing some heat haze slightly.

During my stay in a small Italian small village, I did quite a bit of walking. There are 3 old chestnut trees there; a 300-year, 200-year and 165-year trees, according to the description posted thee. Here is an image of the 300-year old chestnut tree.

Ah…I see what you’re saying 😊
As you know, some days the heat distortion can wreak havoc on your photos. It was actually pretty overcast all weekend, so it wasn’t too bad. I think the majority of what you’re noticing is the atmospheric turbulence caused by the hot exhaust from the cars
Great shot of that chestnut tree! If I squint, I can almost see faces in gnarled bark 😄
I really like this shot of yours! It has a great feel to it. You've been getting some great images with the Batis 18, I can tell you really like it. Btw, I saw a teaser that Zeiss posted on their Instagram showing a 15mm new Batis - not sure if it's true but that could be a nice new lens!

Thank you so much, adventure_photo – your kind words really mean a lot to me! I'm truly glad you like the shot.
That teaser from Zeiss sounds exciting… a new 15mm Batis would be too good to be true. If such a lens actually hit the market, I'd probably buy it without even waiting for reviews. The Batis 18 has been bringing me so much joy – I never expected I would end up shooting so much at 18mm!
I was going to ask if you set up a dark background or something, but you answered my question 😄
Thank you Robert! I have planted both perennial and annual flowers in ground, and also about 20 pots of annuals. The main reason I grow some in pots is we can move the pots around to get better light and cleanest background possible. My wife and the neighbors think I am crazy having 20 big pots of flowers laying around in the yard. I really enjoy it though.
A few more shots from the evening airshow in Florida last month.
