Some of the images seem almost like they were taken with a petzval lens. What equipment wast used?

Rolleiflex SL66 with a Schneider 12.5cm f/2 lens. It's not a petzval lens (xenon actually), just has crazy swirly bokeh

I had an 80mm as well, but I'm not sure I used that for any of these. All with Portra 400.

These are very nice. Very "old school" but in a good way. Obviously authentic as opposed to new age digital instagram. Thanks for sharing!

Nice set. Your exposures seem bang on. I am dabbling with film and have not been able to get such nice, consistent exposures. If i might ask, how do you meter your exposures?

It looks like you had no trouble getting the kid to open up. I like 17 the most because it just feels like a great window into their personalities that are shown in more detail through the preceding series. The swirly backgrounds are neat and wrap my eye around the photos.

Sidefunk, who is doing your scanning? It's pretty easy to get a decent exposure with film, as long as you're within the ballpark. Basically Sunny f/16, backlit 5.6, shade 4, deep shade f/2.8...

Thanks Zalmy. I send it out to a lab. I have had a couple films which I under exposed a little and the skin colors looked kinda weird.

Nice set.
I really like that lens and the bokeh from it. I definitely thought you were using a Petzval when I first looked at the pictures.
