It's been awhile, but I was finally able to put together some of my black bear captures from the Smokies. All but #2 are from this year.

Looking forward to getting back down there this summer for a few more

All taken with a D4 and usually a 600mm lens + 1.4TC

An excellent series. 1 and 2 are dynamite IQ. I like the poses in the others but they are not up to the quality of the first two.

all great images.. when is the best time to go for cub photos? I talk about going some day so this inspires me to go some day for a week or so. Thanks for sharing..

I think the first and last shots are outstanding. Nice work with an 850mm focal length at 1/400 as well!

Fun (and good) shots Steve. The cubs are so cute (unlike those from Chicago). Sure a lot of green reflected onto the snout of the first one.
