Thanks! now I gotta learn to frame w a lens this wide! I'm thinking generally to have something of interest in the foreground against the scale of the background

Hi folks,
Here's (yet another) sample I'm hoping I could get a read on. There are two shots, one at f/5.6, and one at f/11, looking at the extreme corners (about 800px square) on an a7rII. I have a feeling I know the answer as to whether this is choppy worthy or not, but I'd love to hear some feedback from the experts.

Wow the amount of returns must be noted in statistics, feel the pain of you unlucky ones! This is a shame and hopefully something good will come out of this? QC seems to have a lot left to desire!

From all the CV 15III lenses I've tried in both mounts, it's either good or bad.
It's very obvious when it's bad. It smears at the extreme corners even at f/8.

Yea and I know who got it too. Lol
I told him to buy it because I couldn't pull it off. I'm really happy for him too. It's a fabulous performer. I want to rent or borrow a 21-35 want to see how it performs.

Looking at a few samples coming from the CV 15 III, I got discouraged, too . But my WATE is gone, Guy; just FYI.

The ironic thing is I didn't use it for a few months but right after it was sold, I felt some remorse . That has happened only a few times in my life and I went through a lot of gear. Not as much as you, of course, but still in the last 15 years or so, I had seen a lot come and go. When I sold my earlier WATE copy I didn't feel remorseful at all. Oh, well, I got my Batis 18mm though. It is a well centered and good performer. So, I am fine .

Batis is a really nice lens. I may get one down the road actually. Not something I want to get into at the moment but I think the Batis lenses are the faster AF lenses and I'm still formulating that debate as I had a little trouble shooting a wedding last night with my GMs there I think not as fast but I'm also moving bigger glass and honestly the pace was stupid last night. I worked my tail off. worse it was a freebie too. My wife likes to volunteer me.

I told Guy and Joshua by email that the WATE has slightly better corners than the CV 15/4.5III at f/8. However, 15 is wider than 16mm.
Here is a sample showing corners resolution/contrast and difference in view of view. (sorry for the horrible overcast lighting)
Both show identical histogram and were shot at identical settings (f/8, 1/160)
WATE @16mm (LEFT), CV 15/4.5III E-mount (RIGHT)
sharpening for both in LR (50, 0.7, 25, 10)
Vignetting was corrected for both. No CA or distortion correction.
The WATE is also slight better than the Batis 18mm at the extreme corners and almost equals the Loxia 21.
It's an amazing tiny lens but must be used at f/8 for best results for landscapes. (corner/edges)
