Gary - I love it. I'm no techno-geek - all I know is that the high iso performance is improved over the D810 - the files are much easier to work with. The added features such as M* (allowing up to 15 minute exp in camera) is something I am using a lot (much easier to keep track of and execute multiple exposure sequences) and live-view is improved (I can see darker scenes!). I will be posting a panorama I took (tomorrow?) that is a stitched - 5 shot pano from TDP taken around midnight of moon lit mountains. I think it turned out pretty darn good.
All I know is that as soon as the sun hits the horizon - the D810 goes in the bag and the D810A comes out.
It is an excellent image. I'm making a "map" of exposure options for my trip down there, and yours are right on top. I know there are a lot of factors involved, and adjustments have to be made on the fly -- but you surely captured a very real combination here.
Thanks,
Bart
