It's hard not to spend as much time as possible on the Palouse during the spring green and I've driven a few thousand miles on the dirt roads (literally) to find the hidden gems. But I somehow keep ending up here for sunrises and I rarely regret wasting a sunrise at this location. I was out shooting lightning the night before and the owners actually came out and had a nice chat with me, super nice folks. They can see the house from their current residence so make sure to not go out into their field! I asked permission and he said he normally would since I was nice enough to ask but they just planted...I wasn't complaining since that meant it was nice and green. I normally prefer a tighter composition here but liked the S-bend in the foreground which I haven't noticed before since the grass was taller in previous years. Shot with A7r and a borrowed 16-35 F/4L IS. Enjoy!!
Exceptionally beautiful image, like the layers, the lovely green foreground, the dilapidated homestead, the stand of trees in the far distance and that killer sky. You nailed this one.

I love the comp, sharpness, all the elements in the image, but the contrast and Orton-like effect is a bit too strong for me.
It is a matter of taste, but I might reduce it at least in the upper half if the image.
That being said, if this is exactly what you were intending, I would not change it.
Composition and light are excellent. PP seems to be a bit heavy-handed. Maybe tone down the contrasts a bit? I know people will slap me in the head when saying this, but cRAW of A7r is destroying this image especially for the highlights in the sky areas.

I guess that's what I get for making a contrast adjustment on a crappy monitor while in my office, lol. I uploaded the original one so maybe that'll help with that issue a bit. Not sure what a Norton effect or cRAW is though...off to Google for those.
