Loving this camera.
Started to the the closed shutter on startup issue, sent it off the camera-repair.jp and they are working it right now. Quoted at <Y16,000 including return shipping back to Okinawa.
The quality of images in this thread is superb and inspirational! I'm considering a GR3, possibly the 40mm - I've previously preferred an 18mm perspective but the rendering of the GR3x seems a little nicer. I mainly shoot photos of rural life and intend to take more daily snapshots journaling everyday life and use colour more. I'm planning using a filter such as cinebloom or glimmer glass for a subtle softening and smoothing effect and would appreciate advice on how the brands and strengths compare. Very grateful for any input, thank you.
Few more from today. I went to one of my favorite place to test film cameras and brought along the GR IIIx.
On a side note: it was 110 degrees today in Las Vegas and I was juggling between a Rolleiflex TLR, a Konica Autoreflex T3 and the GR IIIx. Not ideal but manageable ;-)
About to take my relatively new GRIII on a family trip as my only camera, which is a bit frightening...but damn, I don't think I have anything to worry about.

Same here. I brought the GR III along on a quick family trip. Just sharing a couple shots...most were family moments, so nothing too exciting to post.

JPEGs out of the camera.
The GR was pretty much the only camera I was "allowed" to bring as the family has very little patience with me whenever I bring more serious gear on a family vacation. There is usually also the issue of needing to bring something that can go everywhere with me at all times- with the family- and the GR is perfect for that. I find it offers a nice compromise between the smartphone and something larger.

A few more from our family trip to Costa Rica.
Many places don't allow anything that resembles a serious camera (concerts, stadiums, conventions, etc.), but something like the Ricoh GR is no problem. Personally, just capturing moments for fun and memories, not trying to shoot masterpieces. 🙂
