Almost all landmarks in Zion National Park have been named by Mormon pioneers after biblical characters or events. This is Zion's Watchman, photographed at sunset.
This is probably the best photo I've seen of the Watchman...at least within the top few. Beautiful light...love the molten silver look to the river. Really like that you did not push the saturation over the top.

Just love how you handled the light. You have been knocking them out of the park lately. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Jim! It was a nice (freezing) evening, and the light was very sweet. Glad you are enjoying my work, much appreciated!

Nicely done.
Thank you very much chez! It is always difficult and challenging to photograph such known landmarks, I am glad you enjoyed my take on it About the colours, I loved the subdued, brown and "autumnal" hues, and the river's molten metal colour, and tried to preserve them in post - glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you very much Bob, I printed it in a A2 and I have to say that I could have done worse

Very nice work Vieri, you got some nice light and those clouds in the sky add a very nice touch.

Thank you very much Jim, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, the sky (while not ultra-spectacular) really helped the mood here!

Beautiful shot and processing. Medium Format does shine. I used Medium and Large Format film cams. There really is a difference.
Many thanks Allynb, I agree with you - MF has a different look to it. 135 is getting really good, well even APS-C is great for many applications, but if you are after the look, I still think that it's worth to go to the large sensors

Very nice. Great subtle light and processing. I like the silky water. Thanks for the large version to appreciate.
Thank you very much Jim for your very nice comment, much appreciated!
Wow, I think winter might be the best time to photograph this. Usually there are so many rich colors in this scene, it all blends together. I think the snow and the dead trees really add a nice contrast.

Brad, thank you for your comment, much appreciated. I have been to Zion in summer as well, and I have to say that I enjoyed the winter colours much more - in fact, I loved them and can't wait to be there again next February!

A very nice capture of it's subtle beauty. The softer, muted colors really let you take it in.
Thanks for posting.

Many thanks Dan, I lied the colours and the hues of the winter landscapes in Zion - so different from the summer clouds, so much more expressive to me

Gorgeous processing of a beautiful scene.
Is it only me or does it feel like we're falling off to the right ?
Thank you very much Frogfish, glad you enjoyed it! The photo is level according to the camera's electronic level; if you check out the trees on the left you'l see that they are level. However, the scene gives the impression to be a bit falling towards the right - I guess is the river and the mountain line perhaps (?). Thanks again!
