I had this issue with my Loxis 85 when it was new. The gasket on mine was extremely tight. I cleaned the contacts and left the lens on the camera to compress the gasket and it seems to have resolved itself. Also early on it seemed to be related to a depleted battery. Inserting a new battery seemed to help. At any rate, my Loxia 85 seems to be fine, although I don't use it that much, so I'm not certain that the problem is totally gone.
I still think that this lens is a blessing for all of us gearheads.. Just took it out again on the weekend and it performed unbelievably good in backlit conditions wide open. I usually have to deal with LoCA in the Hairs and on the clothes but this time, the image was razor sharp and almost done out of the box.

John looking forward to you getting it.
My wife has not made comment on the matter . . . she only approves of such things when it can be used for Christmas pictures of the girls, which I'm pretty sure the 65/2 APO can be put to use for that
It does not seem to matter that I used funds liberated from lens/camera sales
Had it out last night at my D's volleyball game. As I showed in the other 65/2 thread it certainly passes the close portrait eyelash test with great background bokeh and excellent sharpness at the 1/3 part of the frame. Not a hint of CA of any kind. Used it exclusively at f/2 due to the usual crappy lighting in these gyms.
My only initial problems with it while manual focusing were that the focus peaking on my A7RII seemed to be far less sensitive compared to when I use my 135/2 APO. I had a hard time determining if I had correct focus both for up close (as in the portrait of my daughter) and stuff farther away (like 20 meters). Looking at the images in post they were clearly quite sharp.
Today/tonight I intend to get it outside if the weather cooperates and I'll do the usual lens tests.
Another note - although the box appeared new, with a cellophane wrapping, the CPU electrical contacts and mount surface clearly showed some rub marks from being mounted at least once. With other new native E mount lenses that I have the contacts and mount have always looked pristine right out of the box. Are these marks from testing? Refurbishment? A return?

My observations are the same as yours with all of my new lenses. This sounds fishy to me. I once got a UV filter from B&H that looked like it was open and sure enough, it did not screw on my lens very well. I think it was a return that they simply resold.
