Finally getting around to processing and uploading files from the Paint Mines last weekend. I took only the CV 65 and Loxia 21. Here's the winners from the 65 so far.
For those who want a cheaper alternative to a 1:1 macro lens, the CV 65/2 APO + MARUMI DHG Achromat Macro (+5) works wonderfully. It gets you to 1:1 macro without sacrificing IQ. It's actually a better performer than adding a 26 extension tube to the lens.
Basically with the achromat close-up lens attached, 1:2 is archived at the lens 0.5m and as we move the focusing ring towards MFD (0.31m), magnification increases gradually until 1:1 macro is achieved. It's a wonder add-on for the 65/2 and the best of it, you can find it with a 67mm thread. I got mine from Amazon for $99. (A steal for the IQ)

Amazon must have seen your post. It's already gone up to $110.
What is the working distance, from the end of the filter, at 1:1? I've always found using a big lens with a small working distance hard to work with for 1:1 macro. Too intrusive and shading from the lens.

I will let you know.
Keep in mind that we are using a 65mm lens and with the 5+ diopter close-up filter, FL changes to ~50mm.

Thanks for the quick reply Fred. I'm ordering one
Also keep in mind that the native working distance for the CV 65/2 to achieve 1:2 is about 5.5 inches. (front of lens to subject). So, at 1:1, it will be about 2 inches closer.

Thanks. I have been using them for years, most recently on the Loxia 85. With the very short working distance at 1:1 it wouldn't get used much but maybe more around 1:1.5
