Thank you very much; I will be sure to pass along your praise to our Akita Inu girl. :-) Indeed, I have rarely experienced such a profound bond with a living being. She possesses an incredibly strong will, is highly intelligent and independent, yet commands are not her forte. I would describe our relationship as a harmonious coexistence based on mutual respect and equality. Despite this, we are able to walk with her off-leash for hours each day. Sometimes, we wander together through the woods for hours on end. Such freedom is quite rare with an Akita... Most owners tend to keep their Akitas on a leash at all times.

Engine Room of the Starship Enterprise (Machine Hall of Zollern II/IV coal mine). The machine hall was constructed between 1902 and 1903. It is regarded as an architectural masterpiece that signifies the transition from Historicism to Art Nouveau and modern industrial architecture. The hall once housed Europe's first electric conveyor system and served as a pioneer in the complete electrification of mining operations. In 1969, the machine hall was designated as Germany's first industrial monument and officially protected as a historic site.

I found a good deal on the 40mm ,85mm and 135mm and can only afford one... I have the 25mm and really like it .
Im tempted to replace my samyang 85mm ...
Also , the 135mm looks stunning ,but big for my a7c..
Which one will you get?
The B 40mm seems to be the logical FL since you have the B 25mm already. It is an excellent lens and it has the close-up ability. The B 85mm is another excellent lens but you have the Samyang in that FL. Unless... well, you came up with idea already...
Personally, I am keeping an eye peeled on a good deal for the B 135...

The Batis lenses always manage to produce images that look painterly to me, as though they are a much paintings as they are photographs. The colors and rolloffs of the light are always gorgeous and luminous, and Zeiss's "rounded sharpness" gives definintion and detail without hitting you over the head with a sharpness that screams "this is a photograph."

How is Eye-AF with the Batis 40/2? I am enjoying the excellent Batis 85 and 135 lenses. But I'm hesitant to buy the Batis 40 because I read that there was a problem with Eye-AF accuracy. This 2019 review indicates that there was a unresolved issue with Eye-AF: https://phillipreeve.net/blog/review-zeiss-batis-2-40-cf/
Is this still an issue? Thanks in advance!
Honestly, in all the years I've used the Batis 40/2, I never once had an issue with its eye autofocus. I seem to recall that eye AF problems only occurred if you got extremely close to your subject with this lens – so close that you'd start seeing perspective distortion, like an elongated nose or a face appearing wider. That might be why I never experienced the eye AF problem myself.
If I want to shoot a frame-filling portrait, I prefer using a longer focal length. That way, the face doesn't get distorted, and I don't have to get right up in their face with the lens. In fact, I've always found the Batis 40/2's eye AF to be quick and reliable.

I really love the bokeh of the Batis 135mm f/2.8. In my opinion, its bokeh comes very close to – or is even on par with – the level of the 85mm f/1.4 GM (Version I). Still, the Batis has its own unique character to the bokeh that I find very appealing.
