This was how they used to fish in the old days on the Li River in China - getting the cormorants to do the heavy lifting! This method is still being practiced in some parts of China.

Thanks Doug! I don't know what the deal is with the wing-like straw outfit that the traditional fishermen wore. Maybe to serve as a sail when there is a strong wind? Kevin aka Frogfish might be able to shed some light here.
