That past summer, I realized that I had misplaced my much-loved Micro-Nikkor AF-S 60mm f/2.8G. Seeing that this lens’ manufacture had apparently been discontinued, I was spurred to quickly buy THREE replacements, plus the predecessor AF D version, all pre-owned, but well-preserved. Thankfully, they all perform well. “Moth Month” species counts, in July, went well.
Then, I found my misplaced Micro-Nikkor AF-S 60mm f/2.8G. Life is good. (Now, if I could just find my misplaced D850, life would be better. I bought another D850, too, and hope that this second one will be a spare, rather than a replacement.)

Thank you very much and for showing up. I've been all by myself like Celine Dion for too long up in here. Lens does not get enough love but mine's not going anywhere. Now post some pictures .

One day, I should finally learn how to post images, here. I was mentored, in close-range and macro photography, by two of the world’s top-tier evidentiary/forensic/crime scene photographers. I have transferred that skill to personal shooting, largely nature photography, in retirement, but my post-processing skills are weak, and, I do not speak “computer-ese” very well. (I was not allowed to post-process my images, that I shot for official purposes. Best-quality OOC JPEGs were expected, but, in order not to “destroy evidence,” a felony, I had to submit every image I captured, into the proprietary program. So, I was motivated to shoot the best JPEGs possible.)
Playing with my Micro Nikkor 55/2.8 and 60mm AF 2.8D on my Zf. 100% crops of image center att full open aperture. I think the 55mm has a microscopic edge in resolution. 55 on top. In front of the TV so light isnt constant.
