It was supposed to be a cloudy night and our group was disappointed we wouldn't get to photograph the Milky Way. Well, I woke up at 4am and looked out the window and saw nothing but stars. Naturally, I got dressed, grabbed the gear and was awestruck at how many stars I could actually see.
Very intriguing shot to me. The color balances of the sky (very warm) and the formation (very cool) is almost bizarre. Is that formation out there frozen? Hard to tell what it is.
Coolshot.

Thanks Mark. That formation is Hollow Rock and sits just a few feet off shore. It is a rock formation that has a hole in it. The ice is just from surf splash. I understand what you're saying about the color balances but that is the way it looked. In fact, I was toning down the blue in the rock and ice.

Very well done Bob. It's a lovely composition.
As a feedback, perhaps cooling the background just a tad could make it even better.
Best,
Fred
Thanks Fred. I think you're right. I need to give it a bit more work . . . it was late last night and I was having a bit of trouble keeping the sky from getting too cool.
