Goodness, were you in the nest?? Unbelievable vantage point and feeling of physical closeness that your shots convey. I'm tellin' you man, calendars would fly off shelves worldwide and you'd have royalties coming in left and right !

Thanks Mitesh.
I bought a $40 drone from Canadian Tire and attached the 200-400 to it......or not......
This nest you do get closer than the presently unoccupied one I've photographed more often but this nest takes a little more work to get to. Well worth it. I'm sort of glad I will get more time at this nest this year as the other one is closed this year. Most years I only went out 2 or 3 times to this one.
Wow, what amazing shots! You must have a very close vantage point coupled with your skill in capturing excellent images. I am curious to know how you get so close and up at eye level. I hope you are able to return often and post more images as the chicks grow.
The only bald eagle nest I know in this area is ~600m from the nearest permitted observation point. I am able to get about 10 pixels on an eagle. I am going to Haines in Nov. If I get one image as good as any of these it will be worth the trip.
Outstanding seems a bit simple for such a superb series Geoff, really some of the best I've seen of nesting eagles with chicks. #9 should be on the cover of something.

John J. Audubon must be rolling in his grave with envy that someone with a camera can so eloquently upstage his timeless bird studies with a paintbrush!
Your series above with eagle feeding chicks is about the most spectacular & precious photo illustration of bird life I've seen in my 85 yrs. on the planet.
Thanks BIG for sharing your stunning camera work on this forum!!

Every year you get closer and this amazing set is simply a delight to view Geoff. Some day you will be a dad and understand dad napping

Thanks Morris. As you can also see mom was having her fair share of naps in the nest also. I'm only complaining about dad because I was hoping for him to deliver a new fish and have both parents feeding together as they sometimes do when the eaglets are this young. 2.5hrs of waiting and he didn't move...oh well....always next time. Mom had a store of fish in the nest to feed them anyways.

the same happens to me with osprey. As they get larger they will have to bring in more fish
Crazy cool vantage point and terrific set of images here Geoff, really looking forward to seeing them grow and fledge this year.
Very well done and thanks for putting in the work to get to the nest.
