The most bird-rich county in the world has somehow not managed to be on the forefront of the bird photography community and it is my hope that in the coming months I can change that perception a bit. For those of you who know me, I don't post very often here due to the amount of work that goes in to post an image. The millennials believe in faster turnaround and hence Instagram works great for me. You can find me here - https://www.instagram.com/supreet_sahoo/
Having said that, I think FM is special and probably the only online forum I post. You guys are awesome and there are some amazing images shared here.
About the images - During the 8-day tour, I did where I was scouting for locations with my local guides I photographed over 100 species of birds, some endemic and some just regular birds. I am sharing this short series of tanagers and some other species to give you an idea of how beautiful the birds from Colombia are. As always please share your thoughts and don't forget to see my stream on Instagram. God bless
Note: If you really enjoyed the images and want me to post another set next week of more colorful birds from here please click vote as featured thread.
Wow, what a great series of photographs. All are wonderfully exposed and processed. I especially like the Saffron crowned tanager for the bird's beauty as well as the curved perch.
Both Columbia and Peru have more than 1000 species year round. With the political situation more stable in Columbia it will become a more popular destination in the years ahead.
Exactly, which is why I'm working with the lodges to build those spots now. Thank you my friend

What is sadly lacking is a "tripadvisor" for bird photographers. Difficult to determine which lodges are the best choice in terms of both species on the property and the caliber of local guides that are available. The typical tourist cares more about creature comforts and internet access than the opportunities for bird photography.
