I also bought the SE version. Smaller, lighter, cheaper and the design fits better with a modern camera like the Sony A, in my opinion. Regardless of the camera, I still like the M-mount version (vintage + chrome nose) best.

Could you please post some sample photos of the 35? Is there already a thread for this? I don't think so, or is there?

Thanks, now I remember. Unfortunately most of the pictures are no longer available. Somehow I have the feeling that with regard to the 1.2 Noktons, there are a lot of pictures not only here but generally on the internet that were taken with the 40, still enough that were taken with the 50, but very few that were taken with the 35.

Lovely close-ups, Helena. Did you use extension tubes or close-up lenses? I really like how the fine detail is paired with a subtle glow from the SA.
Thank you Fred! I use a Marumi Achromat Macro close-up lens.
I'm finding the out-of-focus areas very pleasing to my eye, with all the swirling and such. Doesn't vignette as much some other Voigts. Is relatively sharp wide open (such the first photo) and starts to shine from f2.0.
Really liking the rendering of this lens. I also have the 35mm version, but I find this 50mm version even more pleasing. Might be the focal length / more narrow field of view?
Coming from Fujifilm (apsc) to Sony (A7cii), trying to get used to having to do colour editing. Still haven't left the house with the camera - but today is the day.
I bought this lens about 6 months ago, after enjoying the CV 40/1.2 so much. This one of course is just as wonderful, maybe even better in some ways. My heart still belongs to the 40, but for now I'm enjoying the 50. In use, the two aren't that far off. I'm using the M mount version with my Techart adapter, and while the AF isn't great off-center, it makes it a lot easier to nail focus with people/kids in situations like this:

What a wonderful shot. The motif, the colors, really great.
BTW. It's precisely for this kind of rendering that I love the 1.2 Nokton, in contrast to the much-praised, intrusive "Zeiss 3D Pop."
What Nifty-Fifty said Graham!
I recently laid my hands on a copy of this lens (CV 50mm f1.2), Sony mount, the SE version which it took me some time to find.
It reminds me, and pretty much so, about the CV 40/1.2 which I used a lot some years ago. I find the 50 to be a tad "sharper", a little less swirly background, a tad better bokeh (if I'm not mistaken seduced by the new toy) and showing another plus: no onion rings. Great stuff!
