Build small pond with fish, diving branch above the pond, set focus middle of the pond, stick yourself in the hide with a ton of patience, hit the shutter when the bird dives hoping he or she will emerge where you have focused, often they will go straight back to the diving perch with fish so good chance they will come out the water where you have focused below the diving perch.
This particular set up is on a tidal river that flows fast and floods, water is often murky making fishing difficult, so these guys are happy to use the homemade pond. The last two seasons the fish supplement has helped them successfully raise three broods per season.
