When photographing sunsets, I quite often find the scene looking back from the sunset more appealing than looking towards the sunset. You typically get many shades of subdued colours giving a pastel look the the scene. Worth looking over you shoulder to see what's happening behind you.
Thanks for your feedback everyone. Giancarlo D, I do at times use Corel Painter to create a painting look to some images and print them out on canvas. My best selling photo of spawning salmon was done this way.
Aaron, yes The light on Kauai is truly amazing from bright contrasty during the day, with showers softening things up and the morning / evening light is always a surprise. I've always enjoyed waiting for the nice light...even when it does not materialize.
