Wow, thanks for the comparisons Fred! I will go definitely for the 135mm. I currently think about a 2 body setup with the Sony ZEISS 35mm 1.4 (Won the lottery and have a good centered copy) and the new 135mm G-Master. This should cover a large FL without changing lenses. The 35mm/85mm combo gets a little very common IMHO. Shooting with the 35mm with the ability to crop and the 135mm including close-up shots makes it very interesting. Especially under consideration of the new Sony firmware in April for the A7RIII. Can't wat to shoot the new super fast 135mm in Eye-AF Mode with the new firmware.
I’m looking forward to a festival of flowers, portraits and bubble balls, although the later may deplete your stash of Roblox money
You absolutely have to try a re-do of the first pic at the link below, even if that means dusting off the flashes and umbrellas. Especially if you don’t intend to keep the lens, this would be an unique opportunity to get such portraits of the young ladies there.

Anybody who also shoots a 35mm and 135mm combo?...Show more →
It is the 35/1.4 ZA you purchased from me? If it is, I regret selling this copy.
Nowadays, I really like the FE 24/1.4 GM, FE 50/1.4 ZA and FE 135/1.8 GM combo.

Definitely a great gallery! We should start one here at FM as well.
I've been neglecting my recently acquired FE 100/2.8 STF but when the 135/1.8 GM loan goes back, it will be shooting exclusively with it. I had a change of heart and really like the images the STF produces.
Actually, I reread Roger's review on this particular lens and thought about this statement:
"What was said was that the A9 can give 60 instructions per second, and that this and the 400 f/2.8 come closest to keeping up with that."
Could it be possible that the A7RIII and A7III can't take full advantage of the GM 135 AF speed so that's why the Sigma 135 appears to have a similar focus speed? I came across F-stoppers preview on this lens as well and the guy had a similar theory. He was disappointed with the AF speed since Sony said AF speed was one of the high priority.
Would love to see a comparison between the Sigma and this GM on an A9 body to verify this...

That was me that bought your 35/1.4... and I still can’t thank you enough!
Do you have any plans to compare the 135 GM to the Batis? On the one hand I love what I’m seeing from the GM... on the other hand, I have no real complaints with the Batis, and it’s so much lighter.

Just looked. Mine has the same message with the New Item line in red.
Yes, mine was B&H as well.
I hope they get them out the door on April 30 and really do deliver on their 1 day/overnight(?) delivery that was promised at checkout.

I'd suggest using the Sony hood to avoid weird reflections I'm seeing with this lens. I can't replicate these reflections with the Sigma 135/1.8 Art.
Here are a couple examples showing what I mean:
Hi Fred, have SONY tech/marketing people received your flare test ? i would like to hear their feedback.
I'm not going to put my order for this flare,

At first he thought the AF system allowed the 135mm f1.8 GM to execute up to 60 AF instructions per second but later was clarified that it only does that when paired with the Sony A9.
Let's just say the FE 135/1.8 GM is 'future-proof' and we could see its full potential in future higher MP sensors and/or improved AF camera systems. (like the A9)
Just updated with FW 5.0 and am now considering playing with this 135 whereas I was not prior to last night.
