If you don't mind a technical question, did you darken the background in post or was your light source close enough that it fell off that fast?
No darkening. I usually light from the edges as well, but I was going for more shadows here. So it's all fall-off. I was using a 64-inch PLM with a diffusing fabric camera right probably about six feet from subject (so it's just out of the camera shot). I then added some fill with a light and softbox left of camera at a much lower power setting.
Not especially liking the pose. Awkward lean forward, awkward bend of the left hand. And she does not look like a Marilyn type. Friscoron is capable of doing better. I prefer your dance shots.
