I saw the Weekly Assignment and lamented that the topic didn't come when this was taken and the YouTube Fox News Memorial Day clip I submitted to Fox News was viewed on Memorial Day. James was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967. His father was a minister in our small rural town outside of Washington, DC, Now a megaopolis. His family was very spiritual and close. He was the only boy in a family of 4 sisters. We went to different high schools but lived in the same town, and we played against each other in football and the love of cars tied us at the hip. We saw each other almost daily until I went off to college then I was drafted in early 1967 and he in 1966. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. This is just a picture of the joy in his sisters remembrance of his life which was cut off waaaay to short.
The YouTube video sez it all.

This is painted above the dining room at his sister Peggy's house in the video.
A close friend in an era where differences were not ignored but colorized.
But that wasn't the way it was in our town among most younger people. He was a brother in arms also that unselfishly answered the call when his Country asked him. As did many in my small country town. His father was a preacher, and I use that term with the utmost respect and honor, his 4 sisters were angels(are angels)....Freedom isn't free!
