There is so much to see in Bosque and we had so little time
While the number of the birds seemed less than my last visit, still lots to see . The skies at Bosque are truly magical. The changing colors and the cloud formations are a treat for the senses.
The first night, we were standing in the cold and near darkness hoping to get some snowies or geese fly in to roost at the crane ponds. The quite still silence was suddenly filled with the calls and howls of the coyotes . Their conversation seemed to echo from the mountains behind the crane ponds. Truly a hair raising sound and experience. Then to look at the skies and see those colors, made me feel so small and humbled.
Here are just a few of my shots . Hopefully they translate just a bit of the beauty that I felt and experienced at Bosque.

I love Bosque environmental images, as the refuge and the skies are just magical, and you've captured it well here, Birdie. Love all the images but especially #4 and #5. Well done!
Birdie, you bring that place to life with your images. Excellent job with each of them, that first shot is gorgeous with #4 being a piece of art. Glad you found some good stuff.
Birdie, you captured the essence of Bosque! Yes, the number of birds, namely sandhill cranes, is definitely lower than in the previous years but you made that up with other beautiful aspects of that place. YGMV!
You have such a great eye for details, color, and composition, Birdie! How is it that you saw and captured scenes and I totally missed them 🙄🧐😂
Viewing your images makes me feel like I’m right back at BdA, and that’s really the best compliment I can give! Great to have finally met you and hope to learn more from shooting with you in the future 🙂
Thanks Birdie and others that have posted recent images from BdA. We are planning on being there for about 10 days starting Sunday Dec. 22. We'll be staying at Chupadero Mtn View RV Park between San Antonio and BdA. This will be our 9th time, but it has been 3 years since our last visit. We really love the light and wildlife viewing that always changes there.

Magical............and your images captured some of that magic!
#2 oh gosh wish I were there just sitting on my butt enjoying that moment Birdie, love it!
#3 sure has a nice feel to it, nice way to capture the mood
#5 haven't ever seen BG colors like those but they are most attractive and so very different to what I see, very cool
#'s 1&6 do justice to light and color, glad you shared these
Super set and I am sure there is much more to come.............

Fabulous set Roberta. It’s scary, but the second shot is nearly identical to one I shot last month six thousand miles away while watching the crane migration through the M.E.
