Good start! Nice exposure and processing.
It is all about levels. NO color in deep IR. It took us an hour to hit on levels. We are both 70, and not as quick as a younger person. We have so much to filter through it takes a while to come up with an answer. Watch "Jeopardy" sometime. It is rare to have someone over 45.
are the colors, especially red, are straight from the filter or from post processing?
where did you buy the 580 nm filter?
thx!
On most recent cameras the IR filter is so strong it makes filters all but useless, I tried an IR shot with my old D80. Minutes long and still underexposed. With filters you need a tripod. You first focus using visual. Then you attach the filter and shoot for however many minutes it takes, while hoping you did not mpve the lens.
With an IR modded camera you see the subject. The camera focuses and exposure times are about equal to visible light. I can handhold many shots, depending on how bad my hands shake that day. I have a 720 nm IR filter buried in a closet somewhere. The last time I saw it was a couple years ago.

I just started playing with a Digital Rebel converted IR. I used a Haida Graduated ND filter. C&C please.
Going by your third photo, it appears your WB is off. You need to set it using a patch of sunlit grass, The patches of green in the last photo gave t away.

Wow All photos thus far a treat for my eyes. I am not accustomed to this type of photography. Nice surprise!
It is a fascinating area of photography to explore. Very different to shoot light you can't see, that flips around tonal relationships between elements in the scene. And like shooting in the film era you often aren't quite sure exactly what you're going to end up with until you process.
First images from my converted full spectrum Sigma DP1m. Mostly OOC here with a custom WB, just minor tweaks. The red color with the Merrill sensor is quite amazing. I will pick up some additional filters for B&W, but I quite enjoy the "Aerochrome" look too.
