Besides the famous peaks, the Dolomites feature many small lakes, surrounded by the mountains and all very atmospheric and inspiring - either thanks to the ubiquitous fog, or because of the reflections they create - or both, like here. This is Lake Dobbiaco before sunrise, 102 seconds of exposure with my Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 30mm and my Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Beautiful photo. Are those trees on the far ridge showing autumn colours? If they are do you think they are Larch trees?

Than you very much Derrick, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I think they are larch trees, unfortunately colours were a bit late last year in October.

The mist is an excellent element to the reflection. The rock is also well-placed in a good spot.
