It can be tempting to pass over the common birds around us such as the ubiquitous Mallard, but they too deserve their moment in the spot-light. Here's a few I've captured...
stunning for a fairly common bird. The beak down and into the water shots are such a wonderful take - I may have to try that myself. Isn't copying a form of flattery? haha
These are more about the photographer seeing things uniquely Colin and a good lesson for me to appreciate and expand my visions. The light and colors are most entertaining, I wish you would number these but those tight at water level headshots are marvelous and the chick bailing off the log is just sweet!

Not the usual boring mallard shots (I have about a zillion).
Lots of special images.
The young chick leaping off the log is an amazing image!
The eye level close ups, especially with bills and heads in the water, are superb.
I imagine it took a long time to accumulate such a great set of images.
