Absolutely beautiful pictures ! I love the light and composition.
I will be in Colorado in 3 weeks time and was thinking of photographing the Pawnee grasslands. Is that east enough to find prairie chickens ?

Pawnee is east enough, I heard there are Prairie chickens in Brush which is nearly the same on an east west scale. I doubt you can see them in a lek there because they are active in leks only around March, April and May. I never seen them at Pawnee, that doesn't mean they are not there.
thanks for the insight Shibu .. yes, a future trip to Colorado in spring would be something I would look forward too, visiting locations I have never been to before (sandhill cranes down south near the dunes) and from what I learned here, prairie chickens in leks in the east
