I always enjoy the challenge of shooting swallows in flight. Sometimes frustrating but more often than not very rewarding when you get some nice keepers. Location is key, numbers are key, wind is key and time of day is key to help maximize one's chances of success.
The one shot I haven't got yet is the bug pickup off the water coming towards me. I've seen it happen dozens of times but never had the camera aimed at that particular swallow when it does happen.....one day....
Excellent set of bullet shots! They are not only fast, they change direction without notice.
They are a lot of fun to shoot...if a few shots are working out.
I particularly like #13 (excellent job of getting the bug in focus) and #14 (great action and reflection).
Although a 'vote' is a great compliment on a series of images this one deserves 'Honors' for IF work and presentation IMO Geoff.
Holy smack daddy these are an exception to just grabs, they are beautiful little works of airborne art
#1 rocks, head on, target locked on by both eyes and mouth about to take the treat
#14 is such a fractional bit of moment so well captured, wow!!
#15 looks like bug in mouth catch
#17 would be a great wall hangar, that is really form and beauty IMO

I have yet to see anyone else with better reflexes than you. these are insane. if I could, I would give 10 votes for this series.

Wow, is the word that I came up with when I saw those speeding bullets that you captured. Very impressive on both ends, the gear but most of all the person behind the camera.
