btw, 1787 was the same year that delegates from the 13 colonies gathered at Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA to begin thrashing out the Constitution of the United States of America. At the end of that summer a delegate's wife approached Ben Franklin asking him what we now had..... a monarchy or republic. His reply was "A Republic.... if you can keep it."
We'll keep it alright! The Republic will survive because there are countless millions of us who will not accept any alternative.
Here is one outlet for the "The Summer of 1787. The book is incredible. I read it twice and that was several years ago. Have to get through it again soon.

I hope you're right, my friend. In what seems a million years ago I took an oath to defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. The oath has no expiration date, so I'll be there. What good a fat old geezer would be is up for debate.

Remembering my D300. I still have a D200 sitting on my desk as a nostalgic reminder of my first digital Nikon (after being a hardcore Canon man for over 25 years before that).

Thanks Fred! I loved my D850 also but the in-hand feel of the D500 was special to me, I always wished the D850 body was identical to it (probably not possible, but I’d have loved that).
