Scott, I like shots of lonely trees... in fact, I spend a bit of time looking for them. I like your toning here, but wish for a tighter composition or less centered composition...

I bought the 100-400 yesterday, and when I first did some test shots ad home, I was a bit disappointed.
The sharpness wasn't what I expected.
I took the lens with me on a walk with my white shepherd to take a bunch of photos and film them.
When I got home and checked it, it was much better than I initially expected.
Now I just need to get through the learning curve and find the sweet spots of this lens.
100 mm F5 1/1250e iso 560
165mm F5 1/1250e iso 900
320mm F5.3 1/1250e iso 1000
400mm F5.6 1/1250e iso 800
shot in nraw 4k 120p F from 4.5 to 5.6. and zoom from 400 to 100.
by the way the zoom was i nice surprise, it zooms nicer then my 24-120 f4s
ss 1250e, yes i now but i needed sharpness, so sorry for the noise, it was getting late and the iso did get up up to 12500.

oke, did a lot off shots of motocross.
lens is great, but i need to find the sweet spot.
stopping down to F6.3 is a litle better all the way up to F8.
i cant say that there is differents between 100 to 400mm (with 5.6 there is, but its pixelpeeping)
did some video to.
with 400mm its hard to keep it al in the frame

A lot of impressive images and IQ in here. I just got a z6iii a couple weeks ago and am wanting to pick up the 100-400 for landscape and the occasional little league game. I love super compressed landscape scenes!

Powerful Owl high up in a tree. These two shots taken a week apart, the first has what appears to be a dead possum in its claws - which is commonly what they prey on as well as small rodents etc. There were a male and female, and this looks to be the male. Atrocious lighting but I made the best of it with a bit of post processing work.
