It is a nice owl. I do think the wet saw owl is better looking imo but the boreal owl is more rare . I was not able to take pictures of these for a few year. I was about to leave, I searched for it all morning didn't find it. Just when I was about to left, someone told me he find it. I was so happy, it would have been my 3rd outing in a row with no pictures. The owl was really well place too!! 😍🦉

First 2 Images of the Steppe eagle and Short toed snake eagle are shot at 800mm with external 2xTC and the last 3 harrier images are shot at 1120mm by stacking the internal 1.4TC and external 2X TC.

Both yesterday and today were rainy along the central coast. While I'm working on a presentatin that I am scheduled to give about nature photography in the midwest, I decided to take a break and shoot some birds in the rain.
All of these shots were taken on Saturday, and I think my favorite shot was the first one that I took... That first one is the first image in the post. Anyway, if you're using the Z9 (or Z8) with a 400 f2.8TC, don't baby that lens, as is works perfectly in a bit of rain and drizzle.
