I spent about ten minutes with this fascinating gentleman before he announced proudly, “You don’t know me? I am Jonathan the homeless actor.” He went on to say that he was on his way to L.A. to get work. It was then that he gave me this incredible expression after I suggested that we needed to get a proper portrait of him. I genuinely hope that he gets there one way or another somehow. The whole interaction lifted my spirit as he demonstrated most vividly to me that no matter what else we have, we always have our aspirations and our dreams—a profound experience that I will always cherish.
