A difficult mixed rock and ice climb in East Vail, Colorado of athlete Rich Purnell with Chris Alstrin belaying him. I set up a rope from above the climb and rappelled down into this stimulating position capturing Rich in this crux move just about to clip his rope into a quick draw along the route.
I've led water ice, but this really takes the precarious prize! Extremely spicy to do the moves, even more impressive to climb it and then look down at just the right moment to photograph. Very well done!
Thanks Josh, I appreciate the kind words! It's definitely a scary exposed climb up there and incredibly beautiful too. Otherworldly environment where all the creative juices and andrenaline are flowing at full!
