Congratulations to Mark Metternich for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 4 votes - View Previous Winners
I'm out in the great SW for about a month. The grandiosity that nature displays out here is some of the best in the world. BTW, If you are on my mailing list I have some incredible news on the way!
Camera/Logistics:
This is a single shot (no sky replacement).
Sony A7R2
Canon 11-24@24mm
f/9
100 ISO
Although some may have seen another shot of mine similar to this posted some years ago, this is a different moment. I was inspired to use the New Adobe Raw on Raw true pure lossless workflow on it.
I hope everyone is having a great summer. My comments may be hit and miss due to travels.

It is sad that nowadays such a statement must be made especially in a community such as this.
In my controversial opinion, If you call any image "a photograph", (note the emphasis on the singular) then you should be able to benefit from the assumption that all the key elements of the moment/scene actually happened with things like timing, scale, and juxtaposition being accurate.
I blame the ever-increasing "creative liberty" of digital composite artists who deem it necessary to cling to a "but I'm a photographer!" attitude as they increasingly depart from reality in their fabricated artwork that no longer has the privilege of being trusted/believed as "a photo", no matter how beautiful it may be as a work of art.

A beautiful moment, Mark, that any landscape photographer would consider it once-in-a-lifetime to witness with their own eyes. Thank you for documenting the moment and sharing it with us!
