p.1 #1 · Cascade Range (Washington) over the years
I haven't posted on here in ages but just wanted to share some photos I've taken over the last five years in the Cascade Range (Washington).
One thing I struggle with is getting tunnel vision once I find a composition I like. I'll often just take the same shot over and over again, paranoid that the sunset or sunrise lighting won't be captured properly. It's an issue for me when I only have 15-20 minutes with good lighting and spend the whole time in one position. There have been many times where I found an amazing spot after the light show was already over and its always a bit disappointing. And I always look back through my photos and the first couple at that spot are usually fine. I've been getting more confident at moving around and trying to capture a greater variety of shots during peak lighting lately, but still have a ways to go.
Hope you all enjoy! I've been enjoying viewing everyone's photos on this forum.
North Cascades National Park.
North Cascades National Park. Classic moody PNW weather.
Central Cascades. This was taken in the very late afternoon with a heavy layer of wildfire smoke in the distance.
North Cascades. This was just outside of the national park boundary after a very cold night of backcountry camping.
Central Cascades. Sunrise. This was in the Glacier Peak Wilderness.
Central Cascades. Got to witness a cloud inversion on one of the summits this year. Very rewarding. This was a handheld pano.

An amazing collection of images. The first three literally took my breath away due to their stunning beauty. Great job. Can only imagine how many grueling up hill miles you have hiked to get these.

Awesome! As a kid I would camp here as my dad would climb these mountains. I cannot help but to love #2 the most. Although some of the others bring back fond memories of the grandeur as well! Beautiful set here!

Great set of some of my favorite places. When I opened the post I thought I might just move on due to the out of focus slightly washed out mountains visible in the first shot on my screen. Luckily I did scroll down for a wonderful goat surprise!

Nice set of Cascade images! I am relatively new to Washington and am finding the Cascade range to be unbelievable. One often can capture fog or low clouds to really add to some "atmosphere" as you did. Well done!
Cheers

Like other posters, I LOVE the second and third images. Nice. Will have to check out google to see if I can get a grip on your hike to get to those images. My hiking years are behind me...
